Barbecued Beef Brisket (Recipe)

Here's a simple and great-tasting way to prepare brisket that's easy on the cook.  Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.  Or, to soak up the sauce, make barbecued beef sandwiches by serving over split, toasted sourdough or French rolls or toasted sourdough bread slices.

Ingredients

1 (2 pound) boneless beef brisket, trimmed of fat
2 cups prepared hickory-flavored barbecue sauce

Steps

1.  Place the brisket in a 3 1/2 electric slow cooker.  Top with 1 cup barbecue sauce.
2.  Cover and cook on the high setting 4 to 5 hours, or until the beef is tender.  Stir in the remaining 1 cup barbecue sauce.  Cover and cook 15 to 30 minutes longer, or until heated through.
3.  Remove the brisket and skim off any fat from the sauce.  Slice the meat across the grain and serve topped with the sauce.
