Pineapple-Ginger Smoothie (Recipe)


Ingredients

250ml (8fl oz) unsweetened pineapple juice
125ml (4fl oz) plain yogurt
1 1/2 tbsp grated fresh ginger
6-8 ice cubes
Ground cinnamon or ground nutmeg for garnish

Steps

Put all the ingredients except the garnish in a blender; process on high until smooth and creamy and all the ice particles have disappeared.  Add sugar substitute if desired.  Serve immediately in chilled wine glasses.  Sprinkle a little ground cinnamon or ground nutmeg on top for added spice.

Tips: Summer Berries

Use fresh berries when in season for smoothies.  60g (3oz) of fresh strawberries contains 5.25 of carbs and a great flavour punch.
