454g (1 lb) pork sausage meat
225g (8 oz) grated Cheddar cheese
125g (4 oz) margarine, softened
185g (6 oz) plain flour
1 tsp paprika
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Steps
1. Preheat the oven to 180c, 350f, gas mark 4.
2. Form the sausage meat into fifty 25mm ( 1 in) balls. Place on a nonstick baking tray and bake for 15 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to cool and drain.
3. Combine the remaining ingredients using the flat blade of an electric mixer. Wrap approximately 1 tablespoon of the dough around each sausage ball. Place the balls on an ungreased non-stick baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden. Spear with toothpicks and serve hot.
Tips:
Food safety is based on the simple principle of 'Hot foods hot-cold foods cold'. One of the best investments you can make is to buy a quality freezer thermometer, refrigerator thermometer and oven thermometer. Check them frequently to make sure are working properly.
