Sesame Seed Dressing (Recipe)

Ingredients

2 to 4 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup salad oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon grated onion
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seed

Steps

1. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, paprika, salt, Worcestershire sauce and dry mustard.

2. Using an electric mixer beat constantly with an electric mixer, while alternately adding the oil and vinegar to the spice mixture.
3. Stir the onion and the toasted sesame seeds into the dressing.

Tips:

To toast sesame seed, spread them in a thin layer in a shallow, ungreased pan.  Toast the seeds in a 350° oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until they are golden, stirring the seeds once or twice.

To save time and effort, make this dressing ahead and store it in a screwtop jar in the refrigerator.  Then just shake the dressing well before pouring it over a salad.

To prevent the bowl from slipping while you mix, place a wet washcloth under the bowl.
