Braised Baby Pak Choi (Recipe)

Ingredients

4 heads baby pak choi
1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
1/2 tsp Chinese 5-spice powder
2 spring onions, thinly sliced
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
500ml (16fl oz) chicken stock

Steps

1.  Rinse the pak choi under cold running water and pat dry with paper towels.  Trim off the ends, but leave the heads whole.
2.  Place the pak choi in a large non-stick saute pan with the remaining ingredients.  Place the pan over high heat and bring to the boil.  Lower the heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes or until the pak choi is tender but still slightly crisp.
