Fried Vegemeat With Sweet-and-Sour-Sauce (Recipe)















Ingredients

3/4 kilo vegemeat, sliced into desired sizes
1 small canned pineapple tedbits, drained
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
1/2 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
2 tablespoons catsup
2 tablespoons calamansi extract
1 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch diluted in 1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups water
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil for frying

Steps

1. Slightly fry vegemeat then arrange on a platter. Set aside
2. Combine all remaining ingredients except pineapple and bell pepper.
3. Simmer for 5 minutes stirring continuously.
4. Pour mixture over fried vegemeat.
5. Garnish with pineapple and bell pepper.
6. Serve hot.
